Meet Liz
Hello, my name is Liz Bernstein. I am running to represent you on the Martin County School Board. I need your vote on August 23, 2022. I am a proud graduate of Hidden Oaks Middle School and Martin County High School. In 2007, I graduated from the University of Central Florida with two Bachelor of Science degrees: one in Economics and one in Finance. My Master’s degree from Boston University is in Economic Policy. From 2009-2015 I worked as an analyst and research economist for the US Department of Commerce, Bureau of Economic Analysis. In the national Income and Wealth Division, my team’s job was to calculate, assess, and review the private wage and salary estimate for the nation. In 2014, I started a small business teaching yoga, Pilates, and mindfulness meditation.
As a native Floridian who was raised and educated mostly in Martin County public schools, in 2019 my husband, Justin, and I chose to make our home here mainly because of the superb community and lifestyle. As a Martin County Tiger, I represented our county at Girls’ State, was in the National Honor Society, vice president of the Debate Team, and in Student Government. At UCF I was president of the Business and Economics Honor Societies and was elected to The National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
I will work to strengthen the already excellent public school system in Martin County to produce citizens who are productive, caring and well equipped for a life of success in the 21st century American workplace. This can only be accomplished through a rigorous, innovative public school system with the best, fully certified teachers, parental support and full local control of tax dollars collected for education. I am devoted to public service and have the knowledge to make this happen:
- Student Success for citizenship in the 21st century
- Fiscal Responsibility
- Local Control with parental collaboration
I have proven my ability to work collaboratively in complex situations and am comfortable with the analysis needed to tackle the complex nature of our educational budgets. I promise Martin County tax dollars will be used efficiently, and to the extent controllable, promise to keep Martin County tax dollars in Martin County. Vote for Liz Bernstein for School Board on August 23rd to keep Martin County Public Schools excellent for ALL children.
On August 23rd vote for Liz Bernstein, your devoted Public Servant.
